Highly recommended this hotel
Staff are very helpful and very friendly
They can speak English fluently and communicate is very well for me who can’t speak any Russian/ Uzbek languages
Room are extremely clean and tidy
This hotel is new . All stuffs are in very good condition.
The hostel is located in the Old Town, which is convenient as the bus stop is only a 3-minute walk away. However, it's situated in a small alley, and there's a stretch of road without streetlights when returning from the main square, which felt a bit unsafe at night.
The owner was always helpful in solving various issues, for example, when I wanted to boil a couple of eggs in the morning.
There's a water dispenser available in the common area, which is handy.
The day before I checked in, guests reported no hot water, initially thinking it was due to late-night usage. The next day, it was still cold. When asked, the owner said a circuit breaker had tripped. Once fixed, the water was very hot, so it's important to report any problems promptly.
It was advertised as a 4-bed dorm, but it was actually a 5-bed dorm, which was quite a surprise. The owner claimed it couldn't be changed on the platform, a reason I found hard to accept. Even if the main listing couldn't be altered, they could have added a note in the remarks section. Otherwise, it feels like deception, especially for a 'non-refundable' booking where no money is returned. This was the case for both the female and male dorms.
With many guests staying, the cleanliness of the common areas struggled to keep up.
Also, I didn't seem to find any lockable personal lockers.
The owner, who uses a wheelchair, runs this hostel, which is commendable, and the price is good. However, the issues mentioned above do exist. Luckily, I only stayed for one night as a stopover.
The room was very clean and spacious. The owner speaks English, which was helpful. The map he provided was excellent; all the restaurants recommended on it were fantastic.
Since it's a guesthouse and not a hotel, only essential amenities are provided. The shared kitchen was a convenient feature.
As of June 2026, there was construction in the surrounding area and the roads weren't fully paved. When I tried to leave the guesthouse, my Yandex Go rides were canceled twice because they couldn't reach the property. It's recommended to book a taxi from near the main road (about a 5-minute walk) or from Registan Square (about a 15-minute walk). This was a bit inconvenient, but it should be fine once the construction is finished.
Overall, I highly recommend it because it's very affordable, especially since accommodations in Samarkand can be quite expensive.
Here's what I remember about the room amenities:
**Provided in the room:**
* Hair dryer
* Hangers
* Towels (not replaced during my 3-night stay)
* Shampoo
* Soap
**Not provided in the room:**
* Razor
* Toothbrush
* Kettle (available in the shared kitchen)
* Bottled water
The location is convenient. The owner arranged a room on 3/F and he helped me to carry the luggage upstairs. The room with double doors so the sound insulation is good. The carpets are pretty. Can watch YouTube and Netflix on TV. Air-con, hair dryer, shampoo, body wash and toothbrush are provided. I wish to use the kettle but I can’t find proper socket except near the bed and under hair dryer in toilet. I found some ants in the corner. Water pressure is strong enough for showering and flushing. After checkout, luggage storage is available.
The room is clean, and the bathroom has a washing machine. There's air conditioning, and a lovely inner courtyard.
The breakfast is delicious and homemade: an omelet with ham and beans, tomatoes, pancakes with jam, coffee, and tea.
It has an excellent location in the old city, close to the Bibi-Khanym Mosque and the market.
The staff is very friendly.
On my last day of independent travel in Samarkand, I had an 8 AM train, so I wouldn't be able to make breakfast. I informed the front desk in advance to prepare the check-in certificate (the small slip of paper) for me in the morning. This is a Uzbekistan regulation; if you've been traveling here for more than three days, border control might randomly check your accommodation certificates from hotels and guesthouses when you exit the country. They also prepared a packed meal for me. The staff member on duty in the morning quickly sorted everything out. Since this hotel is located on a pedestrian street, arriving and departing by ride-sharing service requires going to a spot not far diagonally across from the hotel, then passing through a small gate to a back street to pinpoint the pick-up/drop-off location. For arrivals, contact the hotel beforehand, and they will email you the details. For departures, some ride-sharing drivers might get confused and have trouble finding the spot. It's usually not a big deal, but when we left in the morning, it happened twice, and we almost had to ask the front desk staff to call a car for us.
The hotel is in a very strategic location, close to Registan Square, historical sites, and Siyob Bazaar, all within walking distance. We stayed for 4 nights. The first night, we had a spacious room with good amenities, but the air conditioner was old and hot. We requested to move to a room downstairs; the room was smaller and lacked amenities like a kettle, and drinking water was not provided, but the air conditioner worked well. Breakfast had limited options and was minimal. The staff, made up of family members, were very helpful. This hotel can be considered as one of the options. It is recommended that the management upgrade the breakfast and provide some essential facilities for tourists.

A really good hotel with a great location. It’s very walkable, about 2 km walk to Registan Square, and surrounded by plenty of markets and local restaurants. Everything we needed was right in the area, which made our stay very convenient and enjoyable.
The bed was super comfy and the room felt very cozy, perfect for resting after a long day out. Overall, we loved our stay here and would happily choose this place again. A solid choice for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a nice local vibe.
Although taxis can't pull right up to the hotel entrance, they can get very close, so it's not inconvenient at all. It's about a 5-minute walk to Registan Square, making it a very convenient hotel for sightseeing. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, including some delicious vegetable options like eggplant and cauliflower that I hadn't seen elsewhere.

Very Good
AAnonymous UserFacilities: A bit old.
Location: Tucked away in an alley.
Cleanliness: Decent.
Service: Good. The little white note indicates they can open (the room/door) proactively. They allowed an early check-in, and adding just 5,000 won for breakfast was a great deal! I recommend taking a taxi here; otherwise, you'll never find the place.

HHami NguyenThis guest house is a wonderful budget-friendly option in Samarkand. It’s conveniently located near the city center, only about 2 km from Registan Square and other major attractions, making it very easy to get around. The room rates are affordable, with options for 2 or 4 guests, which is perfect for couples, families, or groups of friends.
The rooms are clean, comfortable, and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. The host is incredibly kind, gentle, and always willing to help with anything you need. One of the highlights was the homemade breakfast prepared by the family — generous, delicious, and offering a wide variety of dishes each morning.
For easier navigation or when booking a taxi, it’s best to search for “Bilol Hotel” on Google Maps.
Wishing this lovely guest house continued success and many more happy guests in the future!

GGuest UserI had an early train, and this was the perfect hotel for a good night's sleep before it. For one night in Samarkand, you couldn't ask for better – they even let me check in before 2 PM. Upon arrival, it's about a 5-minute walk from the train station, and if you take the right exit over the bridge above the tracks, you'll come straight to the entrance. The breakfast was clean and tasty. The room had a fresh renovation, was spacious, and comfortable. It was super for my needs. There's a grocery market nearby and a tram line, but getting to the center takes a while if there's traffic.
